The present continuous tense is formed with the subject plus the present particle form (-ing) of the main verb and the present continuous tense of the verb to be: am, is, are.

Present Continuous Tense also known as Present Progressive Tense expresses an action that is still ongoing or is in progress.

Basic Form :
Present Continuous Tense mainly comprises of two parts:
(1) Present tense of the auxiliary verb “be” ,
(2) Present participle (-ing) form of the main or base verb.

What is the present continuous tense?
For actions happening now.
When we want to talk about an action that is happening now or at this time (and is unfinished), we use the present continuous tense.
We also use this tense when we want to make clear that the action is temporary.

The present continuous, also called the present progressive, is one of the present tenses used in modern English, the others being the simple present and the present perfect.
All of these can be employed in both the indicative and subjunctive moods.
